Reuben is among the top GSP Sires in this country, from a comparatively low number of just 14 matings his progeny amassed more than 40 titles, including 31 Championship Show titles, among which are 13 Group 1st winners, All Breeds and Specialty Best In Show winners, a Retrieving Champion, a Dual (Obedience & Show) Champion and many Obedience, Tracking and Retrieving titles.
From one litter alone there are seven Show Champions.
His fabulous pedigree gave the breed short firm backs, dark eyes, and proud self-carriage and movement. Many of his progeny and grand progeny are a testament to his line with strong natural hunting biddability many generations on. At his first show just 6 weeks out of quarantine, Dr Albert Lemmer, German Breed Warden graded him as Excellent and Runner Up In Show at the Victorian GSP Championship Show from the Junior Class.
He had an amazing personality and focused his whole attention at home only on those he loved, loftily ignoring most of his kennel mates and indeed most people who came to see him, politely allowing them to scratch his ears but far more interested in gazing into the eyes of his human family. He left us far too soon, after a very short illness, and years later it is still seeming something that was very special is missing here at Valache without him.
We are indeed grateful that we have had many of his Champion sons and daughters to carry on his legacy.

"Hakan".... a fabulous dog from the world famous kennels of Jean Bates in United Kingdom. His bloodlines are the "Best of British". At the GSP National in Queensland he was awarded Junior in Show under breed specialist Mienicke Mills de Hoog - Wittekind Kennels ex UK now living in France.
He possessed free flowing movement, excellent neck into well angulated shoulders, with a delightful temperament and always showed natural birdiness and retrieving ability. This dog has clearly shown his worth as a sire, as he passed on to his progeny his own qualities of confirmation and temperament with very balanced and correct deep bodies, well angulated hind quarters with good second thighs and short hocks. His friendly and keen temperament is also very evident in his progeny. Sire of seven Show Champions from very limited stud work. A much missed, sweet natured character here at Valache.
